Good day,
I hope you are all having a good weekend. Several things have happened in our world this week. The most important of which is the boys had their 6 month birthday on Thursday. It's hard to imagine Ethan has been in the hospital for that long. When I was a boy and my sister Kelsey was born, she was in the NICU 10 weeks and we thought that was a long time. As you are well aware we've had many good days and several bad ones. The last several weeks, I'm happy to report, we've had more good then bad.
And then, another set back. They did a CT scan on Ethan this past Thursday to try and find out why he's still having respiratory issues. What they found is that he has another area in his airway that is collapsing on itself. The surgeons are going to discuss the options next week, but most likely this means yet another surgery. We really thought we were past this phase, but we will continue to do what's best for Ethan. As of now, we are still hoping to have him home in the early Spring.
Kevin has picked up a respiratory infection and started on antibiotics, but that means he cannot go see his brother. Despite his illness he's still such a happy little boy. He definitely helps keep us sane.
They finally poured the concrete floor for our garage yesterday. I can't wait until we can actually use it. Tina and I went to dinner friday night to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful dinner at the new steakhouse in Concord. It was a great evening to spend some time just the two of us. Please continue to pray for Ethan, as we head towards his next surgery.
Take care and God bless.
Ryan, Tina, Ethan, and Kevin
