Hey guys,
Quick update here, I have the time since I'm not flying back to Columbus this weekend. The flights were going for $600 which was a bit much. There's actually a bit of good news today. Ethan went down to get an esophagram and do the first stretching of his 1mm esophagus. The procedure went very well. They stretched it to 4 mm, and said it was rather pliable which is a good thing. They said he'll do a series of stretches for each of the next 6 weeks trying to stretch it to a normal width. If everything goes accordingly to plan *( asterisk for a BIG if) he might be able to try oral feeds in a couple of months. This would be awesome, and could mean he might come home on oral feeds potentially. I hate to get ahead of myself, but the thought alone sounds so amazing right now.
They are working with Ethan and Kevin together in PT, trying to get some interaction between the two. I would love to see that. I'm also in the process of submitting my appeal to the health insurance provider to see about getting Ethan transferred to Boston. The funny thing is, I got a receipt of a bill for his care today back to 10/4 showing he's in Boston already. This is news to me!
The other exciting news isn't baby related. However, I actually have the Columbus Blue Jackets on TV in New Hampshire right now! It's only one of 3 nationally televised Blue Jackets game this season, so I'm pretty excited. The funny thing is the game is actually being played in Sweden right now. Go figure.
If you are in the greater New Hampshire area this weekend and want to hang, give me a call. My weekend is wide open!
Have a great weekend!
Ryan, Tina, Ethan, and Kevin
