Another Month

Hey everyone,

It's been a while. Our situation hasn't changed much over the past week or two. The most difficult part of this time has been Tina, Kevin, and Ethan all have gotten sick over the last week. Tina and Kevin had common colds, but that was causing him not to sleep well at night. In turn Tina couldn't sleep at night. I feel awful not being able to to be there to help her out more. Ethan actually got strep throat while in the NICU (figures right?), and had to be put back on antibiotics. They are all doing a bit better now, although we're still having trouble getting Kevin on a sleep schedule.

There hasn't been much movement in terms of getting Ethan transferred out to Children's Boston. The hospitals (Columbus and Boston) both had a prospective transfer date of October 4th, however this was later denied by insurance. They are going to be going through an appeals process next week. Hopefully we can get him out here soon. I've got the boys room all set up and waiting for them.

Tina's sister Liz drove down to Ohio tonight to be with her. I'm flying in tomorrow morning, and can't wait to see everyone.

Lastly, Ethan's latest esophogram today showed there's still a very minor leak (so small it couldn't be seen by the naked eye). That's good and bad news, good in that it's healing, but bad in that it'll be another week at least before they can take his drainage tube out.

Please continue to pray for him, for Tina and Kevin. They are whats getting us through these difficult times.
